What’s up guys? Shiningbind here with another episode of Shiningbind Band Talk. If you have a moment, please take the moment by heading over to our Instagram and Facebook and hitting that follow and like button. Anyways, this latest episode is a doozy as we’re going to analyze Photograph by Def Leppard. So let’s dive in shall we?

Since we all are aware of the iconic band Def Leppard, let’s go straight to the song now. The song, Photograph, is off Def Leppard's third album release, Pyromania. The lead vocalist, Joe Elliot, has described the song about “something you can’t ever get your hands on.” When it was released as a single, it topped number 1 on the billboard Top Tracks chart, where it stayed for six weeks. In 2009, it was named the 13th greatest hard rock song of all time by VH1. Now, let’s analyze it.

It’s quite a simple set up sound wise, but it’s catchy at the same time. Def Leppard has a way for making songs that are quite catchy and unique. Moreover, it gives off that sleaze-like feel. The lyrics have an interesting meaning and it goes well with the rhythm of the song. The lyrics talk of an estranged relationship, yet one cannot have her and only had her photograph. The person admires her from afar. Quite a song that many people can relate to as the lyrics are quite a powerful meaning and its in sync with the song.

Overall, I give this song a 8 out of 10 because despite the simplicity of the song, it can catch the ears of the audience with its distinct tune. Moreover, I cannot go wrong with the sleaziness, but that’s just me being biased. Anyways until next time on Shiningbind Band Talk. Peace out!
