SONG OF THE WEEK: Wild Side by Mötley Crüe

What’s up guys? Shiningbind here with another episode of Shiningbind Band Talk. If you have that moment, please be sure to check us out on Facebook and Instagram and hit that like and follow button along with our partners at Time Ends Radio. So this episode is quite a special one as it’s our one year anniversary since Shiningbind Band Talk took off. For that, I truly thank you guys for checking us out and tuning in. This week is another song of the week for all those Motley Crue fans out there, yes we are talking about Wild Side by the notorious rock band off their fourth studio album Girls Girls Girls.

Since we know about the legendary Motley Crue, let’s dive into the song Wild Side. So Wild Side has an interesting sound that can give quite that adrenaline rush, especially when seeing them live at a concert. It’s quite a fast and simple beat, but aggressive sounding like how some of Mötley Crüe’s other music is. Motley Crue is known to give off that aggressive feel where the guitar has a unique distortion sound from the one and only, Mick Mars. Personally, I find Mick Mars to be a highly underrated guitarist. With his distinct playing and guitar sound, it’s what made him stand out from all the other guitar players out there. However, let’s not forget along with Mick’s guitar playing of the song is the backbone of the band, bass player Nikki Sixx.

In addition to the music comes the meaning of the lyrics. If anyone has noticed, the lyrics have more of a meaning than describing the crime in the East LA area. If one pays attention to the lyrics closely, there’s that description of religion where the song can come off as an insane prayer being sung. However, I feel it stands out among their earlier songs, especially with the lyric description. Also, it brings out the looks and meaning behind the band, Motley Crue.

Overall, I give this song a 10 out of 10 because it stands out compared to their other stuff from the earlier days and the lyrics have that aggressive like meaning along with the sound. I highly recommend it to friends and family. Until next time on another episode of Shiningbind Band Talk, peace out!
